First Speaker: Dr .Nicholas Ising
Simplified solutions for impacted canines
Course topic: The course will discuss the etiology and prevalence of impacted canines along with different management solutions for impacted canines. The periodontal concerns and problems for different techniques will be reviewed. Several esthetic topics will also be discussed with regards to dental and facial esthetics. (Length: 1 hour)
Speaker Biography: Dr.Nicholas Isingis an orthodontist in Elizabethtown and has been in private practice there for two years. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Kentucky, dental school at the University of Louisville, and orthodontic residency at Saint Louis University. He is an active member in the Kentucky Dental community and coordinates the Smile Kentucky of Hardin County.

Second Speaker: Rhoda P. Kublickis, RDH,MHSc Xylitol: The Next Frontier in Our Fight against Dental Decay
Course Topic:
We have the technology and products available for our patients to develop lifelong strategies for maintaining good oral health, but still they are getting tooth decay and gum disease. Getting our patients to avoid sweet between meal snacks and brush after every meal and floss every day is a lost cause. So what is the alternative? (Length: 2 hours)
The attendees will understand the following objectives:
•Health benefits of Xylitol
•History of Xylitol research and use
•How Xylitol interferes with bacterial function
•Ways Xylitol can benefit dental patients
•Recognize products that provide 100% Xylitol
•Know what Strive for Five means

Speaker Biography: RhodaKublickis was born in the Philippines. She has her hygiene licenses in New Jersey, Colorado and Florida. She received Associates in Science in Dental Hygiene from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1983 and her Bachelor of Applied Science of Dental Hygiene from St. Petersburg College in 2008. She completed her Masters of Health Science at Nova Southeastern University on December 2011. She is active in her component as an officer and Florida Dental Hygiene association as Atlantic Coast Trustee. One day a week she practices in Fort Lauderdale. She is the Southeast Coast Xylitol Educator for Xlear, Inc., the leading manufacturer of xylitol dental defense products. She also is trained in mass disaster and assists in helping forensic odontologist identify people at Palm Beach and Dade County Medical Examiners offices.
