Members   present:  Rebecca Ray, Susan Shelman, Christeen Johnson, Denise Boothe, Tess Smith, Andi Hale, and Susan Caschera 

Rebecca reported only two scholarship applications were received: Kasey Samuels and Valerie Parkey both of whom are students at ECTC. It was voted on and approved to award each applicant $400. We had given a total of $800 each year so far that we have been awarding the scholarship. Tess will get Kasey and Valerie a card and enclose the check with the understanding that we would like to honor them at the October meeting.Treasury report: $5,144.28

Still need volunteers for Smile KY. Rebecca will send an e-mail with the dates and places volunteers are still needed.Upcoming CE’s:

October 22^nd, Dr. Bryan Burdette and Nick Gargala (psychotherapist)—free course.  Tess will check with Trish Coppola w/ GlaxoSmithKline to see if she would like to help sponsor. Trish had mentioned before she would like to sponsor a course with a large crowd.

November 12^th, Julie Kagan—Pilates for the seated professional

December 3^rd, Dr. Franklin & Jean Thompson—LANAP Laser

Pending Dates for 2012:

February 18, March 24, April 21, May 19, September 22, October 20, November 10.

Charlotte was asking for donation for a group that is sending a crate to Sierra Leone. Susan C. suggested we just make a donation from the association. Charlotte will find out who and where to send the check.

Rebecca talked with Brian Bishop at KDHA who suggested we have a CE course at Churchill Downs and have the Board come and give mini lectures between races. Christeen will look into and check for possible dates.
