Business Meeting January 25, 2010

Members present: Rebecca Ray, Susan Shelman, Christeen Johnson, Denise Boothe, Charlotte Nichols, Tess Smith, Susan Caschera

Denise updated us on the last of BOT meeting:
KDHA will be at the Marriott this year
KDHA looking into supporting a local cause such as Wayside Christian Mission
KDHA needing a treasurer
Mark Nation is the keynote speaker for House of Delegates
KDHA wants every component to send upcoming CE's to Janet Pike
RAM will be at the Fairgrounds on Friday, September 17, Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 20th.
KDHA will be using the purse auction again this year as a fund raiser. Please
send a new or gently used purse containing $10.00 worth of something(exp. gift card, gas card, etc..) with Denise when she attends the KDHA convention.
Each component needs to supply a $50 gift (or two $25's) for the silent auction
Denise will reserve 2 rooms for officers at the convention.

Treasury Report: $3,452.92

Smile KY:
Will be seeing patients identified at the screenings done in September at Dr. Borden's office on the Fridays in February. To sign up contact Dr. Marc Dyer's office.

Scholarships:
Tess will send out the scholarship information to the hygiene schools.

Continuing Education:
February 20th, Jean J. Thompson, RDH “A Treatment Protocol for Periodontal Disease that Patients will Accept”

March 20th Dr. Chiswell “Oral Pathology

Rebecca is also talking with Dr. Franklin about speaking at an upcoming course.
Susan S. recommended a $5.00 discount for anyone who signs up for next course at the of previous course.
Web Site:
Rebecca would like to have all tabs on the web site filled. For instance have our scholarship winners on the “Student Corner”. Also I will send a shortened version of the minutes to Andi to post.

ADHA in Las Vegas:
Pre-register by February 19th
Dates are June 23rd to June 26th.
HDHA may be able to help with costs for whom ever may be attending.

Misc:
Rebecca trying to get sponsors for courses to help with the cost.
Rebecca would also like everyone to work on filling empty tabs on website.

KDHA will be at the Marriott Downtown Louisville this year. Dates are Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th. Watch your e-mail for registration form. KDHA will be having their purse silent auction fund raiser again this year. Every member should bring a gently used or new purse with something inside worth $10.00 (gift or gas cards, socks, etc.). Each component is also asked to bring a $50 gift or 2 $25 gifts to also be auctioned.

Smile KY will be seeing patients that were screened in September on Fridays in February at Dr, Borden's office. Anyone wanting to volunteer please contact Dr. Dyer's office (270-769-3990).

HDHA will again be offering scholarships to the students from our components. Tess will be sending the information to the hygiene schools.

ADHA convention will be in Las Vegas this year. Dates are June 23rd to June 26th.

The RAM (Remote Area Medical) volunteer corp will be coming to Kentucky in September. It will be held at the Fairgrounds on Friday, September 17th, Saturday, September 18th and Sunday, September 19th. Please check back as it approaches for volunteer information. Everybody is needed to make it successful.
