What an exciting time to be a hygienist and to belong to ADHA, KDHA, & HDHA! We now have the privilege
of working under general supervision and delivering local anesthesia if we choose. This was long time coming; but now that
the ball is rolling, we have the promise of the Advanced Dental Hygiene Practitioner (ADHP) position.
UK is offering a new distance learning baccalaureate degree for health care professionals entitled Clinical
Leadership and Management. This could prove to be a good stepping stone toward the ADHP career. Classes meet at night so you
could continue to work full time. If you’re interested in learning more I can get you the contact information.
If you have dental related news, or if, for example, you are a dentist with a hygiene position
open or, visa versa, you’re a hygienist looking for work; call or e-mail me. Our association seeks to be a point
of contact for the dental community.
Your HDHA officers are working hard to bring professional speakers who deliver pertinent information.
These are the same speakers you will hear if you drive to Lexington, Bowling Green, or Louisville, but for a fraction of the
cost. In the past, we've featured speakers from as far away as California. So if you haven't attended one of our meetings
lately, you owe it to yourself to see what you're missing!
